Firstly, no affiliation exists between this site and anything that is officially jQuery.
The purpose of this web site is, as I mention on the main page, to feature the better things and discard the dreck of what passes for helpful jQuery information on the web. You need to make informed decisions on how best to use your precious time. If we help you find the better 10% and filter out the bottom 90%, then we have made the world a tiny bit happier. All we have to go on is opinion backed up back our experience as programmers and web developers, but we hope that someone will benefit from what we have learned the hard way.
That being said, we are open to help and suggestions from you, as well. Don’t get the idea that this is an invitation to submit your own half-baked ideas and get them promoted. However, if you are a developer, please do tell us what has helped you. We want to hear about…
- Tutorials: well-written and pithy. Those rare tutes where you take away a solid understanding in under an hour and can use the new skill immediately.
- Plug-ins: that answer a real need, are well documented, and that follow the “rules” of web standards and accessibility.
- People: the ones who you follow on Twitter or read their blog, who don’t waste your time with drinking songs and family photos, who inspire you to be a better developer or designer, and who have a high ratio of jQuery in their posts.
We promise that, if you will share sincerely, we will sincerely consider what you recommend.
